Nearly 20 years on the mat. A legacy built for family.

Adrian Quintanilla began Brazilian Jiu Jitsu on October 26, 2006, in Edinburg under Romi Rodriguez. His lineage continues through Aurelio Gallegos Jr. to Ricardo “Franjinha” Miller. He trained under Romi from white belt through black belt and, in October 2026, celebrates two decades in the art.

Four years ago, Adrian opened AQBJJ Minha Familia to build the kind of academy where backgrounds fade away and everyone becomes family. He is especially passionate about helping adults find confidence, helping kids stand taller, and creating a welcoming place for children on the autism spectrum.

Built with the support of his wife and daughters—including his oldest daughter as part owner—AQBJJ is more than a gym. It is a family legacy meant to serve the community for generations.

“God. Family. Jiu Jitsu. That’s more than a motto—it’s our foundation.”
